The University is committed to our mission: Ina, Deskubre, Setbe – To Enlighten, To Discover, To Serve. As a U.S. Land Grant institution of higher learning, the University of Guam prides itself on being a relevant, diverse, and premier regionally accredited American university strategically situated in Micronesia and the crossroads of Asia and the Pacific to deliver public value. We are driven by the Tulos Mo'na strategic plan, which presents the idea of "propelling forward together in unison," as we continue to grow and evolve, today and throughout the next several years.

The first strategic pillar of Tulos Mo'na, I Pineksai Unibetsedåt, focuses on the attention and care provided to each student throughout their academic career, from when they first express interest in UOG to official entry to degree completion and after. You, the student, are at the forefront of the work that we do, and it is our intent to ensure you receive the guidance and support needed for a rewarding journey here at UOG.

As you browse our website, you’ll begin to see our dedication to promoting student success. Through our robust offering of programs, you will be exposed to unique, value-added experiences and academic rigor meant to enhance the meaning and quality of your undergraduate or graduate degree. We hope you will take advantage of course-related or student-related travel experiences, research opportunities with faculty or research centers, and course-based service learning to build your personal portfolio and maximize your experiences with us. Program-specific internships, leadership conferences, and clinical and capstone opportunities will also serve to strengthen your overall professional development within your respective degree program.

While exploring our comprehensive student resources and support services, learn about the myriad of student organizations at our Student Life Office, and participate in any one or more of them. Take advantage of our professional Counseling staff at the Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS) Division, as well as your college or school faculty advisors and advisement specialists. They, along with your EMSS Dean and your college or school Dean and faculty, are here to help you learn about the plethora of tutoring, mentoring, scholarship, and other opportunities to optimize value while at UOG.

Together with administrators, faculty and staff, UOG students enjoy individual rights and shared responsibilities to ensure a safe, encouraging campus environment.  Members of the UOG community are expected to adhere to standards of behavior, respective University policies and applicable federal and local laws. It is through our understanding of these policies that we are informed of our individual rights; recognize our responsibilities to one another; and remember to always pursue truth and integrity.

Because student success, in both academic and professional endeavors, is at the heart of a UOG education, we understand the importance of preparing our students for life after graduation. We assess industry needs and trends across various disciplines, forge partnerships with a range of public and private sector establishments, and work to implement plans that assist students with post-graduate employment opportunities. In turn, we have seen thousands of UOG alumni put their degrees to use and fashion their own success stories. Among them are the regional leaders, public and private sector employees, and business owners, who attribute the solid education and nurturing atmosphere of UOG as the underpinning for their transformation from student to working professional.

Our institutional priority is to promote a positive student experience that focuses on your academic and student success. We hope that the knowledge, skills, and connections you forge remain with you, not only while you are at UOG, but as you traverse beyond our campus borders.
