UOG Campus Advisory: Typhoon Bavi

Håfa Adai UOG Community,

Please see the attached Guam Homeland Security/Office of Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) Public Advisory No. 4 regarding Typhoon Bavi.

As of 3:00 p.m. today, Guam has been placed under Condition of Readiness (COR) 3 following Governor Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero's declaration of a State of Emergency for the island.

Typhoon Bavi continues to strengthen, with maximum sustained winds of around 90 mph. A Flood Watch remains in effect through late Tuesday night, and the storm is expected to bring 6–12 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts possible.

The Governor also intends to place Guam in COR 2 at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. Under COR 2, non-emergency Government of Guam offices, including the University of Guam, will close until the island returns to COR 4.
Also attached is the Guam Power Authority's Power Restoration Protocol, which outlines the utility's restoration priorities and process following the passage of a storm.f a storm.
