Blue Night 2024: Homecoming

Starting at 6 p.m., the Center Courtyard will bring a family-friendly party vibe to Blue Night 2024: Homecoming, with entertainment, food trucks, and music featuring The John Dank Show, Straight Up Jed, Jonah Hanom, and more!

 

All Triton Alumni can visit the Alumni Booth to get a FREE T-shirt or UOG “Balutan” Bag and a chance to win some great prizes!

Campus tour can vist the geo-lab to engage with SANDI, the augmented reality sandbox; simulators for an earthquake and a tsunami; QR-coded rocks; and a host of other exhibits.


Anthropology lab

HSS 110

Campus tour can participate in a scavenger hunt, to interact with exhibits! Artifacts such as pottery and slingstones will be on display, as well as early primate skulls to show the evolution of humans.

The scavenger hunt includes short puzzles, activities, and a sandbox to simulate Archaeology, in order to let visitors experience the four branches of Anthropology: Cultural Anthropology, Linguistic Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, and Archaeology.

What is a Land Grant institution, anyway? Learn all about it and UOG's three-fold Land Grant mission of instruction, research, and extension in our Land Grant Hallway.
Cycad Walk Self-Guided Tours

Take a stroll down the Cycad Walk to see and learn about UOG's complete collection of the world's 10 genera of cycads and the threats that are making them one of world's most endangered plant groups.
Soil Research Lab Open House & Soil Testing Demonstrations

What's in your soil, and why does it matter? Find out in the UOG Soil Lab, where you can see soil-testing equipment in action testing for pH, chemical elements, organic matter percentage, electrical conductivity, and texture analysis. 
Nursery Walk: Plant Pathogens & Promising Fruit Trees

ALS Courtyard, South Side

Walk through a hoop-house nursery with UOG's Plant Pathology Lab and take a first-hand look at plant diseases and the pathogens that cause them. Also check out some promising fruit trees of Guam!
VR Experience: Smart Agriculture Technology

Come try out a virtual reality headset and see how VR is being used in agriculture education! 
A Walk in the Aquapark

8:45am - 3:30pm
Across from ALS Bldg. entrance

This just-opened aquapark features three different aquaponics systems being tested for cost-effectiveness and durability in Guam. Come learn why aquaponics is a smart solution for Guam's food security and environment. 
High School Chemistry Titration Competition

Opening Ceremony: 9am / Competition: 9:30am-12:30pm / Awards: 1:30pm
Opening and Awards Ceremonies: SCI 200 / Competition: SCI 230/250A

Come quietly observe as high school students compete in teams of two in a three-hour chemistry titration experiment. Awards will be presented for Best Individual, Best Team, and Best Laboratory Skill. 
Changemaker Challenge

9am - 4 pm

What do you want to be when you grow up? What changes do you wish to see in your community? Come share with the UOG Extension Community Development team and learn how different careers can make a difference in your community. Students of all ages and grade levels welcome.


Slide Into Biology: A Microscope Experience

9am - 3:30pm
SCI 112

Peer into the world on a microscopic level! The UOG Biological Sciences and UOG SACNAS clubs will host a lab experience featuring various biological specimens on microscope slides for visitors to view up close and in person.
Anatomy Exhibition

Examine the various bones and structures of the human body on a detailed human skeleton in this exhibit hosted by the UOG American Medical Student Association.

Bring biology to your fingertips with various touchtanks courtesy of the Marine Opportunies/Nature Association (MO'NA) student organization.
Algorithmic Visions: A Math Showcase

9am - 12pm, 1pm - 4pm

Got a thing for chess and Jeopardy? Come play with us! Also, try your hand at a giant math-related word puzzle -- find the most words and get a prize! We'll also showcase how students have used game theory, graph theory, and coding theory to look into some really cool research topics!

Digital Dimensions: Celebrating Math & Computer Science Wonders

Build a binary bracelet, challenge your friends or a CPU in Tic-Tac-Toe and Wordle, and check out live demos for student-designed software built for fireworks displays, emergency message sending, and more!

Learning Resource Center Tour

Take a tour of the School of Health's Learning Resource Center (LRC), the first fully simulated birthing lab in Micronesia equipped with hospital beds, equipment, and supplies to simulate the hospital environment. Visitors will get to tour the facility, observe our full-body simulation manikins come to life, and watch our nursing students conduct health assessment demos with stethoscopes, reflex hammers, and more!


Social Work Student Alliance Wellness Activity & Info Booth

If you could describe "health" through a picture, what would it look like to you? Embark on a self-guided tour of our HS-216 student Photovoice projects to get a snapshot of current public health topics/issues in Guam and ways to address them through different eyes.
