Associate Professor, Accounting
Dr. Doreen Crisostomo is an associate professor of accounting at the University of Guam, where she has taught since 2005. She currently serves on the Finance and Budget Committee of the Association of Government Accountants and a reviewer to the Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award Program of the Government Finance Officers Association.
Dr. Crisostomo has worked in government service for over 25 years, including time
spent as the deputy superintendent of finance and administration for GPSS; comptroller
of GPA; controller for the Guam Housing Corporation; deputy/chief fiscal officer,
and finance analyst in the Legislature; chairperson of the Finance and Planning Committee
for the GMH Board of Trustees; and senior vice president of the Association of Government
Accountants. She also serves the community in other ways, including through supporting
fundraising efforts for educational purposes, natural disasters relief, and finance
She has published articles on topics of government accounting, accounting systems and pedagogy. In recognition of her work, she has received several awards from the Association of Government Accountants, including the Platinum Level Chapter Recognition Award, while she was president of the AGA Guam Chapter and the Platinum Regional Vice President Award. She has also been awarded the UOG Community Awareness Award for research, and was a nominee for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants George Krull/Grant Thornton Teaching Innovation Award.
