Good to Great Initiative (2013-2018)

G2G was borne out of necessity. Financial struggles, increased competition, technological advances, and internal complacency needed to be addressed, and G2G provided the framework to help the University think about itself and its place as the only U.S.-accredited higher education institution in the region.
The University needed to change in order to not just remain relevant, but to become something greater in the years to come.

The Statement of Greatness below is based upon Guam public law (GCA 17; 16100), Board of Regents policies, and previous strategic plan statements going back over 30 years. It is simultaneously an acknowledgement of our unique geographical place, and a statement about our competitive advantage and our inner purpose.
The University of Guam's unique geographical location and its commitment of expertise to the needs of Guam and the Micronesian Region jointly provide the basis for greatness. The University functions as an intellectual conduit for the people and institutions of the Region, East Asia, and the world to learn from one other, within an American higher education framework.
Greatness consists of leadership in (1) learning, teaching, discovery, and service that preserve the essential strengths of the Region's cultures and natural resources, and (2) applying those strengths to new challenges in flexible, multiple ways that transform the students of the University, the University's partners, and the University itself.
