The University of Guam School of Education (SOE) has named one of its classrooms in honor of the Filipino Community of Guam (FCG) in appreciation for its $50,000 contribution to the UOG Endowment Foundation’s capital campaign. Located on the second floor of the SOE building, Room 206 was named during a ceremony on September 9.

A portion the donation was used for new furniture and technology upgrades including a new interactive smartboard, which matches the make and model of the smartboards installed throughout several GDOE schools.

“These interactive whiteboards are going to give our future teachers a big boost as soon as they leave SOE and begin their careers,” said Assistant Professor of Education Foundation Dr. Dean Olah. “They will also be able to teach others how to use the technology. So all around, it will be good for everyone.”
