The Richard Flores Taitano Micronesian Area Research Center (MARC) announces as part of its 50th anniversary celebration, it is hosting "A Taste of History" fundraising event on November 30, 2017 at the Guam Museum. Tickets are $50 each with proceeds going towards the development and publication of Guam History books.

MARC currently has three book ideas (from a general to a contemporary history to a comparative history) that they would love to invest in. Its goal is to net $15,000.

This "Tasting" event will highlight recipes from the 1930s Guam Recorder (a widely circulated pre-war monthly news magazine) that Chef John Fernandez from B&G Pacific will recreate for us. We will entice our guests with up to ten different Tuba cocktails developed by mixologist, Shawn Nededog and if that's not enough to enhance our evening, local entertainer, Mr. Candy Taman and his grandson, also Candy Taman, along with Danny de leon Guerrero will perform for us. Plus, the French artist “Paul Jacoulet: Visions of Micronesia and Asia” exhibit will be open for our guests to see and appreciate. This promises to be a night of good food, drinks and entertainment all for a great purpose.

Tickets can also be purchased through the University of Guam Endowment Foundation website
