Senior Vice President Jay Jones, UOG Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Anita Borja Enriquez, and Guam Water Kids Consultant Ann Card.

With a renewed partnership heading into its second year, Triple J Enterprises donated $20,000 to the University of Guam Water and Environmental Research Institute of the Western Pacific (WERI) on September 28.

The funding supports WERI’s stewardship of Guam fresh water resources and the Guam Water Kids Initiative.

“Our renewed commitment to WERI will ensure they get the support to sustain their educational programs at the local level and in the classrooms,” said Senior Vice President of Triple J Jay Jones. “We hope this collaborative effort can be leveraged for future studies and possible infrastructure projects specifically in Guam.”

With the donation, WERI will continue providing education and field trips for teachers in cooperation with the Guam Department of Education, encourage high school students to explore the importance of sustaining our island’s fresh water resources, and expand community outreach efforts.

“WERI’s mission is to seek solutions that improve economic conditions and quality of life for the people of Guam through research, teaching and outreach,” said WERI Director Dr. John Jenson. “This donation will help us expand our efforts to help young people take responsibility for managing and conserving Guam’s fresh water resources.”
