Apply Now for the Islands of Opportunity Alliance Internships

2/12/2018

Applications are now being accepted for the Islands of Opportunity Alliance-Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (IOA-LSAMP) internships.  This program provides a stipend for three students working in a UOG faculty member's laboratory or office on individual research projects in a STEM field, as well as a small amount for research supplies.  Funds may also be available for travel to a IOA-LSAMP student conference in Honolulu Hawaii during the summer.

Undergraduate Pacific Islander students interested in conducting research in a STEM related field are eligible to apply. Students must be enrolled at UOG for the Fañomnåkan (Spring) semester.  Students who will graduate in May 2018 are eligible to apply.

Three internships will be available from 15 January 2018 through 31 July 2018.  Applications will be accepted until interns are selected.

Applicants should provide a statement of interest describing the type of research they would like to conduct, unofficial copies of undergraduate transcripts, and the name and signed concurrence of a UOG faculty member who will serve as a research mentor to the student.
