Renovated building demonstrates energy efficiency program through a partnership with GPA.

The tide is rising at the University of Guam Sea Grant Office! The program is growing and is excited to announce the grand opening of its new headquarters. Members of the community are invited to attend the grand opening event at UOG Dean’s Circle House 25 on Monday, June 18 at 3 pm. UOG Sea Grant’s new office space also serves as a demonstration house for the Guam Power Authority’s Demand-Side Management (DSM) program. Guests are asked to RSVP for the event.

“GPA is proud to partner with UOG through the (DSM) Guam Energy Sense Program,” remarked Melinda C. Mafnas, P.E., GPA Acting General Manager, “GPA seeks to expand its energy efficiency program through more partnerships like this with other Government of Guam agencies.”

UOG Sea Grant is one of 33 programs across the nation. The National Sea Grant College Program is a partnership between universities and the Federal Government’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), an agency within the Department of Commerce. The Sea Grant network includes more than 3,000 scientists, engineers, public outreach experts, educators, and students. UOG Sea Grant is based in the UOG Center for Island Sustainability.
