UOG vs Bulldogs

The University of Guam Triton Men's Basketball Team improved dramatically from their opening game but still could not overcome the Bulldogs in the Bombers Basketball League on Oct. 6 at the Coral Reef Recreation Center on Andersen Air Force Base.

The Tritons led most of the first quarter, showing better offensive movement and hitting some open shots, but the Bulldogs hung close and went ahead in the last minute of the first quarter 21-19. Both teams battled back and forth in the second quarter, and the Bulldogs hung onto their two-point lead at halftime, 45-43.

The Bulldogs came out in the third period with a faster game and stretched the court to the full 94 feet and the Tritons had a hard time keeping up and also hit a cold spell in shooting, both inside and out. The Bulldogs expanded their lead to 10 points at the end of the period with a score of 69-59.

In the final 10 minutes, the Tritons cut the lead to five points several times but could never get any closer. The final score was 93-85.

The Tritons fall to 0-2 in the early season and play again at 3:30 p.m. next Saturday, Oct. 13, against MacTech at the Coral Reef Recreation Center at Andersen Air Force Base.
