The University of Guam volleyball teams had a double win the night of Oct. 1 at the UOG Calvo Field House as both the Tritons and Tridents won their final matches of the regular season in the Guam Women's College Volleyball League.

The Varsity Tritons may have put together their best match in the short history of the program, beating the Guam Community College team 3-0 by the scores of 25-8, 25-9, and 25-8 as UOG used a strong-hitting attack in the match to dominate GCC from start to finish.

The UOG Tridents, UOG's recreational club team, defeated the Pacific Islands University Tide 3-1 in a match that tied the Tridents with GCC for second place in the league. The Tridents won the first two sets of the match, 25-9 and 25-15, and the Tide came back to win the third set 25-23, but then the Tridents finished off PIU 25-14 in the fourth set.

The Tritons won the regular season with a 6-0 record and 18-1 record in sets. Though the UOG Tridents and GCC tied for second in the league, GCC takes the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, having one more set win in the regular season, 11-10 over the Tridents. PIU finished in fourth place with a 0-6 record.
