Wireless Issues for iPhone Users

We have received reports for wireless users using Apple iPhone devices that are having difficulties switching to different wireless network SSID's such as eduroam to UoG-Guest.

This issue was caused by a recent iOS 12.4 software update.

The Office of Information Technology will be monitoring for any ios updates that could resolve this issue, and an update announcement will be sent accordingly.

WHEN?

As of the initial report, Friday, August 16, 2019.

WHAT IS REQUIRED OF ME?

Users who are currently connected to a wireless network (i.e. eduroam or UoG-Guest) do not need to take further actions.

If you need to change Wireless Network SSID's please see the following options.

  • Option 1: Forget the current wireless network you are connected to.

    • Click the ( i ) icon next to the current wireless connection, and click "Forget this network" on the next screen.

  • Option 2: Attempt to switch SSID's three or more times, and after a few failed tries it should connect.
