The scholarship was created in 2008 by UOG Professor Emerita Rebecca A. Stephenson, a former anthropology professor, after her retirement. Recipients for the award must be undergraduates in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and are selected based on their essay submission, letters of reference, and academic standing.
