It's Charter Day at UOG! Come one, come all to discover and celebrate what makes UOG great. This free all-day event is open to the public with opening ceremonies beginning at 9 a.m. in the Center Courtyard, and activities running throughout the day until 5 p.m.

 

5 Things You Won't Want to Miss:

 

  1. Charter Day

    Campus tours
    9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Field House
    Take a tour of the campus by bus with stops at the Triton Store, the RFK Memorial Library, the Computer Center, Army ROTC, Micronesian Area Research Center, the KPRG public radio station, each of the six schools and colleges and more. Two vans will also visit the Marine Lab and the Water & Environmental Research Institute. Download the campus tour schedule here.

  2. Food, games, and activities
    9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Center Courtyard
    Come browse over 70 booths of food and product vendors and enjoy activities and entertainment for the whole family happening all day in the Center Courtyard. Entertainment will include games, live music, cultural dances, a hut-building competition, Army ROTC demonstrations, and more!

  3. CHamoru Language Competition
    9 a.m. - 4 p.m., UOG Field House
    The Chamorro Studies Program in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences will be holding its annual “Inacha’igen Fino’ CHamoru,” or CHamoru language competition. The day will feature large group elementary and middle school dance and chant competitions in the morning followed by high school competitions in a dramatic performance, singing and language proficiency in the afternoon. Each competitive event will be judged by members of the community who are fluent in the CHamoru language.

  4. TechFest
    9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Computer Center
    Charter Day's first-ever TechFest and will showcase modern technology through various interactive displays and activities. The event will also feature special presentations on various IT topics and keynote speaker Jay Castro, Product Content Strategist at Airbnb. The National Center for Women in Information Technology will be presenting scholarships to local high school students. For a complete TechFest schedule, go here.

  5. Free giveaways!
    10 a.m. - 2 p.m., SBPA Atrium
