Chemistry students at the University of Guam joined in the celebration of National Chemistry Week from Oct. 20–26. The students in Associate Professor of Chemistry Tedros Bezabeh’s General Chemistry (CH-102) and Foundations of Physical Chemistry (CH-350) classes dressed up in costume for the week’s theme this year of “Marvelous Metals.”

“The students were very keen in participating and exhibited some creativity in what they did,” Bezabeh said. “This is indeed a great way to raise awareness and increase the level of interest in chemistry among our students.”

National Chemistry Week is a public awareness campaign that promotes the value of chemistry in everyday life. It was launched by the American Chemical Society in 1989 to engage the community and inspire the exploration of all things chemistry.
