The Tritons jumped out to an early lead of 15-5 as Logan Hopkins hit three 3-point shots early in the game, but the Four Stars’ Billy Belger answered with nine points as well, and the Four Stars closed the first quarter with a 20-17 lead.

In the second period, Hopkins kept pace with 12 points. Maks Kepwe contributed 10 points in the quarter for the Four Stars, who kept the lead at halftime, 49-43.

The Four Stars amped up even further in the third period, scoring at will with their inside play against the smaller Tritons and outscoring the Tritons 28-14 in the period to take control of the game and cruise to a 104-82 victory.

Belger scored 29 of his 43 points in the second half holding the Tritons from a run in the final 20 minutes. Kepwe added 19 points for the Four Stars as well.

Hopkins led UOG with 31 points, while Michael Quan added 17.

The Four Stars move to 2-1 on the season, while the Tritons fall to 1-1.

In the first game of the night, Team Gatorade and the FSAG All-Stars opened their Triton League seasons with a 107-64 Gatorade victory as Willie Stinnett and JP Cruz scored 28 and 27 points for Team Gatorade, while Eric Reyes and Edgardo Baza scored 17 and 15 points respectively for the FSAG All-Stars.

League play continues Wednesday in the Calvo Field House with the KFC Bombers (1-0) taking on the FSAG All-Stars (0-1) at 6:30 p.m. and Team Gatorade (1-0) playing the Four Stars (2-1) at 8:15 p.m. The Tritons play again at 8:15 p.m. on Monday against the KFC Bombers in a live broadcasted game by PBS Guam.
