The University of Guam Triton Men’s Basketball Team defeated the FSAG All-Stars 104-97 in a close battle in the Triton Men’s Basketball League on Wednesday night in the UOG Calvo Field House.

The two teams played into overtime the last time they met on Nov. 3 with the Tritons coming out on top 80-79. This time the teams were locked into another close game with the All-Stars leading 27-25 at the end of first quarter and 51-50 at halftime.

In the third quarter, UOG got a bit of a lead at 80-74 and was able to hold off the All-Star runs and keep a six-point lead for most of the fourth quarter to win the game 104-97.

Logan Hopkins led the Tritons with 37 points, 14 of which came in the third quarter, where UOG took control of the game. Michael Quan added 33 points and 10 rebounds, nine assists, and five steals. Also scoring in the double digits was Jerod Boles with 10 points.

Karl Melencio led the FSAG All-Stars with 26 points, while Sandy Fejeran added 21 points.

The Tritons are now 3-3 for the regular season, while the All-Stars fall to 1-5. UOG returns to action at 8:15 p.m. on Monday in a live televised game on PBS Guam against the Four Stars (3-4). The FSAG All-Stars play again at 6:30 p.m. today in the Calvo Field House against Team Gatorade (4-1).

In the first game of the night, the KFC Bombers defeated Team Wu-Tang 112-90. The Bombers were led by Divine Cox with 37 points while Julian Stewart topped Team Wu-Tang with 27 points.

The KFC Bombers lead the league with a 5-0 record, while Team Wu-Tang fell to 1-4 on the season.
