The University of Guam’s Political Science Student Association
will host a "Meet the Candidates: Congressional Edition" video series from Aug. 16-22. The series will include three videos, which will be aired on PSSA’s Facebook and Instagram pages at 5 p.m. ChST as follows:

Aug. 17: Dr. Robert Underwood
Aug. 19: Sen. Wil Castro
Aug. 21: Congressman Michael San Nicolas

PSSA is sponsoring the "Meet the Candidates" video series in hopes of giving the students of the University of Guam, as well as members of public, the opportunity to learn more about the candidates running for Guam’s non-voting delegate. PSSA seeks to provide students and residents with the knowledge necessary to make well-informed decisions in the
upcoming primary election.

"The video series will highlight each of the candidates’ strengths, platform, and approach to critical issues that affect our island community,” said Joseph Madlangbayan, PSSA vice president.

In their videos, the candidates will respond to questions prepared by UOG students that center around critical issues related to political status, the economy, public safety, the Compacts of Free Association (COFA), and the COVID-19 pandemic. All three delegate candidates were invited to participate. Questions will not be provided to candidates in advance of the interviews.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted this year’s election season, PSSA said it remains committed to promoting the study of government and politics, enhancing public awareness, and facilitating discussion about politics and issues of importance to the community. PSSA encourages students to explore the field of politics outside the classroom and acts as an outlet for students to expand their knowledge and skills, extend their networking boundaries, and increase their active involvement in public events. An integral part of PSSA’s mission is service to the island community, as service and involvement contribute to the formation of active and responsible citizens. PSSA is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

PSSA will host a virtual Meet the Candidates: Senatorial Edition in October before the general election.
