Free sessions to help prevent elderly falls, injuries

Did you know that 36 million falls occur among older adults each year, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The Margaret Perez Hattori-Uchima School of Health is offering two free sessions to help prevent fall injuries among our manåmko'.

The presenter will be Veronica Alave, MSN/ED, CDS, RN, Learning Resource Coordinator and Nursing Instructor at the Margaret Perez Hattori-Uchima School of Health. This session will provide valuable knowledge and insight that will help you prevent loved ones from falling. These sessions can also help you make decisions about when to seek guidance from a healthcare provider.  

The free presentations will be on:   

  • Saturday, September 23, 10 a.m.; and   
  • Wednesday, September 27, 6:30 p.m. at the Margaret Perez Hattori-Uchima School of Health, Room 145.   

The public is invited but seating is limited.
