The University of Guam Society of Emeritus Professors (SEPRS) recently awarded scholarships to seven UOG students this academic year.

The seven were awarded $1,000 each during a ceremony at the UOG Emeritus Hall on October 20, 2023. They were selected from among 40 students who competed for the scholarship.

The scholarship recipients are: 

  • Shanice Castro, a sophomore majoring in Psychology; 
  • Sophie Nochefranca, a sophomore majoring in English; 
  • Felicity Pereda, a first-year student majoring in Biology, Bio-Med track; 
  • Hannah Quichocho, a first-year student majoring in Biology, Bio-Med track; 
  • Anniea Saturno, a senior majoring in Social Work; 
  • Diana Silang, a first-year student majoring in Accounting; and 
  • Leanelyn Tolentino, a first-year student majoring in Civil Engineering 

The donors are primarily SEPRS members and others who contribute annually or through the SEPRS Scholarship Gala held each year in April.

This is a one-time award over two semesters, but students can apply or re-apply each year. 

The scholarship award ceremony was held and organized by the SEPRS Scholarship Committee in collaboration with the UOG Financial Aid Office, the UOG Endowment Foundation and the UOG Global Learning and Engagement.
