Au Mana and Lady Bombers Ease Into Lady Triton Volleyball League Semifinals
Au Mana and the Lady Bombers of Andersen Air Force Base had easy matches in the Lady Triton Volleyball League quarterfinals. Legacy and the Lady Tritons put up little resistance during Sunday night's games at the University of Guam Calvo Field House.
The Lady Bombers opened the quarterfinals with a 3-0 win over Legacy, as the Andersen team won 25-13, 25-16, and 25-13. Legacy did play well in each set early on, but mid-set, the Lady Bombers ran off massive runs of points to put the sets and the match out of reach for Legacy.
With the win, the Lady Bombers are now 4-3 in the league and will play the #1 Seed, the Rogues, on Tuesday night in the semifinals. Legacy finished the Lady Triton League season at 2-5.
In the nightcap, Au Mana faced little resistance from the Lady Tritons, winning the opening set 25-16. That would be the most competitive set of the match, as Au Mana cruised through the following two sets, 25-12 and 25-7. With the win, Au Mana advances to the semifinals, where they will face the No. 2 seed, Guam Pro 1, on Tuesday night. Au Mana now holds a 5-2 record for the season, while the Lady Tritons finish at 2-6.
The championship is scheduled for 8:15 pm on Thursday, May 8, with the two winners of the semifinals playing. The two losers from Tuesday night play in the 3rd place match at 6:30 pm.
