KFC Bombers Defeat Fairzesh To Make Championship of Triton League
In a game that felt more like an NBA matchup, the KFC Bombers defeated Fairzesh 123-112 on Friday night, May 2, at the UOG Calvo Field House. With the win, the Bombers advance to the Championship Game of the Triton Men's Basketball League on Monday night at 7:00 p.m., where the #2 seed KFC Bombers will face the #1 seed Team Austability.
The Bombers got off to a hot start, leading 30-22 after the first quarter. Fairzesh started the game with only five players and got their full squad on the court during the first period. Dksen Attain for Fairzesh hit 13 points in the second quarter, helping his team close the gap to just one point at half-time, 55-54 in favor of KFC.
Fairzesh took the lead in the third period, going up by 5 points midway through the period. However, KFC would return to the lead behind the 9 points by Dee Harrell in the period and the Bombers went up late in the quarter to lead 88-79 entering the 4th quarter.
The Bombers maintained their lead in the final 10 minutes, with Taariq Harvey scoring 15 points in the final period to lead the KFC squad to a 123-112 win.
Tezz Williams led the Bombers with 27 points, while both Taarig Harvey and Dee Harrell scored 22 points for KFC, and Isaac Tamez added 21. Dksen Attan led Fairzesh with 29 points, while Chris Connor scored 23 and EJ Mori added 22.
The Bombers are 8-3 on the season while Fairzesh ended their Triton League season at 4-8.
The KFC Bombers will now play Team Austability in the Championship of the Triton Men's Basketball League on Monday:
If Team Austability wins, they will be the champions of the Triton League; if the KFC Bombers win on Monday, there will be an "If Necessary" game on Wednesday, May 7, at 7:00 p.m.
