UOG Tritons Lose To Fairzesh, End of Triton League For UOG
The UOG Tritons lost to the Fairzesh team 84-71 on Monday night, April 28, in a rough game that the Tritons led for nearly three quarters at the UOG Calvo Field House.
Neither team brought its best offense early in the game, with both sides missing numerous shots. However, UOG managed to take a 16-14 lead after the first quarter. Despite the lead, the Tritons struggled at the foul line, making only 4 of 12 free throws in the first quarter and leaving 8 points at the line.
Both teams’ offensive woes continued in the second quarter, with the Tritons winning the quarter 13-10 and leading at halftime, 29-24.
The Tritons kept the lead until midway through the third period when Fairzesh’s offense started to pick up, and EJ Mori began hitting shots, along with Dave Sardoma. The two combined for 18 points in the third period, and Fairzesh scored 30 points in the quarter. UOG scored 20 but was behind, 56-49, heading into the fourth quarter.
Mori and Sardoma stayed hot in the fourth quarter for Fairzesh and combined again for 18 points in the final 10 minutes. UOG couldn’t keep up and lost the quarter 28-18 and the game 84-71.
The game got ugly in the fourth period, with both teams picking up several technical fouls, and UOG had a player ejected from the game.
Fairzesh is now 4-7 in the league, with all four wins coming over the Tritons. UOG finished their season at 1-10.

The winner of this game faces Team Austability in the Championship Game on Monday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m. Team Austability must lose twice for the Bombers or Fairzesh to win the championship.
