Fuetsa and U17 Nationals Win In Run-A-Ways In Super League
Fuetsa and the U17 Nationals dominated Wednesday night, September 10, at the UOG Calvo Field House, each rolling to convincing victories in the Lady Triton Super League over JusForFuns and BallHers.
In the opening game, the U17 Nationals scored 27 points in the first quarter and overwhelmed BallHers, who managed only 11. U17 slowed slightly in the second quarter, putting up 20 points, while BallHers stayed consistent with another 11. At halftime, the Nationals led 47-22.
Both teams repeated the pattern in the third quarter, with U17 scoring 20 and BallHers 11, bringing the score to 67-33. In the fourth period, the Nationals made a bid to reach 100 but fell just short, scoring 32 points. BallHers, meanwhile, scored 10 for the fourth time in the game. The final score was U17 Nationals 99, BallHers 43.
The U17 Nationals are now 2-0 in the Lady Triton Super League, while BallHers dropped to 1-1.
U17 was led by Lana Quinata with 20 points, Zoe Whitehead with 18, and Maddy Ada with 17. BallHers was led by Shania Aguon with 19 points and Anslie Sarsalgo with 15.
In the nightcap, the defending Super League champions, Fuetsa, defeated JusForFuns 100-37.
The game stayed relatively close in the first quarter, with Fuetsa leading 19-10 after ten minutes. Both teams repeated their pace in the second quarter, as Fuetsa scored 19 again and JusForFuns added 11. The halftime score was Fuetsa 38, JusForFuns 21.
The game sped up in the third quarter, with Elysia Perez scoring 12 points for Fuetsa, who put up 23 in the period. JusForFuns slowed down and managed only 7. In the fourth, Fuetsa exploded for 39 points, with Kate Inchum scoring 15 and Hannah Gogue adding 14. JusForFuns scored only 9 in the final frame. The final score was Fuetsa 100, JusForFuns 37.
