Who We Are

Mission:
The SEAS Islands Alliance will engage URM students in the marine and environmental sciences by illuminating a full career pathway and increase their sense of belonging in STEM by connecting them across island hubs.
Vision Statement:

Goals & Strategies:

Goal 1: Create a community that is educated and capable in the marine and environmental sciences to solve pressing environmental challenges in our unique biodiversity
- On-going opportunities for students to engage in place-based science research, volunteerism, and professional development.
- Connect science experiences with cultural identity
- Connect student, family, and community in marine and environmental endeavors through social media and outreach
- Goal 2: Build and connect Guam Hub participants to marine and environmental science networks at home and across the globe
- Participation at local and national conferences
- Networking regionally and globally
- Goal 3: Build up workforce and diversity of industries that address existing and emerging science and sustainability needs of Guam and island communities.
- Foster students into successful STEM careers
- Build an awareness and presence of a work beyond research in the science field
- Create and refine industries for workforce
