The Society of American Military Engineers leads collaborative efforts to identify and resolve national security infrastructure-related challenges. Founded in 1920, SAME unites public and private sector individuals and organizations from across the architecture, engineering, construction, environmental and facility management, cyber security, project planning, contracting and acquisition, and related disciplines in support of national security.

SAME is recognized as the multi-disciplined integrator of military, public, private, and academic national infrastructure-related capabilities to produce viable solutions for America’s national security.
The purpose of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Student Chapter is to promote the mission and values of SAME through the networking of college students and industry with industry professionals and government professionals. It is the intent of the College Outreach Committee to assist student mentorship and provide support through their sponsoring Post with the goal that graduating students may transition into successful professionals, uniformed servicemen and servicewomen, and remain active members of SAME. The UOG SAME Student Chapter was founded in 2016.
