70th Anniversary
70th Anniversary
The University of Guam ushered in its 70th anniversary year on Oct. 20, 2021, with a virtual, island-wide celebration, featuring remarks from dignitaries and University administrators.
Starting in January and continuing throughout its “Platinum Jubilee” in 2022, occasions
will celebrate the University’s growth over seven decades and its role in “Transforming
Lives and Advancing Communities” — the theme of the 70th anniversary celebrations.
Our Impact:
"People think farmers are very strong and they don't have problems, but they do and they need help."
"It was an eye-opener to see how different species and organisms create relationships with each other in order to thrive and survive."
Published research by Dr. Michael Carson dates cowrie-shell octopus lures in the Marianas to first settlements in 1500 B.C.
NOAA has officially granted Sea Grant Institutional Program status to the University of Guam.
Andrew Manglona is one of 12-15 backyard farmers in recent years to purchase tilapia from UOG's aquaculture facility.
