The University of Guam Men’s Basketball Team defeated the Bombers from Andersen Air Force Base 85-65 when the game ended early.

The Tritons started the game well and led the Bombers 24-18 after the 1st quarter. The two teams both had issues with the referees, but the Bombers were the ones who got the technical foul for arguing with the referees. UOG did sit players for arguing as well. The Bombers only had 6 players, and UOG was able to wear down their opponents and lead 56-44 at half.

The Bombers did come out strong in the 3rd period and cut the UOG lead to 6 points but UOG’s Blake Jenkins dunked on two consecutive baskets for the Tritons and the momentum swung back to UOG’s side and the Tritons pushed the lead up to 20 points as the 3rd period finished.

The game ended early with a 85-65 loss for the Bombers.

Blake Jenkins led the Tritons with 24 points and 9 rebounds, while Billy Belger scored 23 points and Geno Anderson added 13 points and 7 assists and AJ Carlos dropped 12 points. Anthony Brown grabbed 13 rebounds.

UOG is now 4-0 for the Guam Basketball Challenge and will finish play next Saturday at 2:00 p.m. against the XClusive.
