UOG Men's Soccer Ties Guam U16 Boys Team In Scrimmage

The University of Guam Men's Soccer Team tied the Guam U16 Boys National Team 4-4 on Wednesday night at Guam Football Association's National Training Center.

UOG went ahead early in the match 1-0 on a break away by Dylan Naputi, but the U16 team came right back and scored two goals to make it 2-1. The Tritons tied it at 2-2, but again the U16 team scored 2 more goals to make it 4-2 at half-time.

UOG scored an early 2nd half goal to cut the U16 lead to 4-3. Then the Tritons tied it later in the half at 4-4. Neither team could score the winning 5th goal, so the match ended at 4-4.

UOG did not have either of their goalkeepers on the night, so the U16 team supplied UOG with a goalkeeper. The U16 Triton Goalkeeper struggled in the first half but played a very solid 2nd half for the Tritons, stopping several potential goal shots.

The Tritons played everyone on their preseason roster during the game, as several UOG players were trying out for the team's final game roster.

The Tritons will play in the new combined GFA Men's League (D1-2) that will have 18 teams for the upcoming season which will begin in late September or early October and extend to May.
