Men's Soccer breaks close match in second half for eighth consecutive victory

The University of Guam Men's Soccer Team broke a 3-2 match at halftime to rout the Bank of Guam Strykers 9-3 in the Guam Football Association's Budweiser Amateur Men's League on Feb. 21 at the GFA National Training Center.

The teams were in a first-half battle as both scored on each other in the first 45 minutes of the match. UOG was leading 3-2 at the break.

The Tritons took control in the second half outscoring the Strykers 6-1 in the final 45 minutes.

The Tritons were led by Ryoga Okada with five total goals in the match while Hezekah Cruz scored two goals, and IIchiyo Kawamata and Joe Quan added one goal apiece.

Okada now leads the Tritons with 15 total goals scored in the five matches he has played.

UOG has won eight matches in a row and now has a 8-1-0 record in the league. UOG plays the Omega Warriors next at 9 p.m. on Feb. 28.
