ROTC Scholarships & Benefits

UOG ROTC cadets can apply for several types of scholarships and types of tuition assistance. For updates, follow the UOG ROTC Scholarships Notifications page on Facebook.

Army ROTC Campus-Based Scholarships

The campus-based scholarships are competitive two-, three-, or four-year scholarships awarded to incoming and current students who meet the above qualifications as well as having good academic standing. This scholarship is open to first semester juniors or below to include high school seniors.

Each Army ROTC Scholarship includes either full tuition or up to $10,000 for room and board, plus a $3,000 - $5,000 in yearly stipend depending on the year enrolled, as well as $1,200 a year for books allowances. Stipends are paid bi-monthly while you are in school and increase in value depending on MS level.

Eligibility

You must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be at least 17 years old before the scholarship is effective
  • Be under 31 years old on Dec. 31 of the year you expect to graduate and receive your officer's commission.
  • Be a high school graduate or have equivalent credit
  • Pursuing an academic major at a four-years institution or at a junior college with the intention to transfer to a four-years institution
  • Agree to accept a commission as an officer in the Army, Army Reserve, or the Army National Guard
  • Meet required physical standards
Two-Year Campus-Based Scholarship

If you are sophomore at UOG who has just heard about ROTC and is interested in getting in on the action or a veteran who is interested in returning to the force as an officer, the Two-Year Campus-Based Scholarship is for you. You are eligible if you have two full years remaining in your undergrad or graduate degree and have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale in your previous college work.

You will attend the Leader's Training Course (LTC) -- a 28-day program at Ft. Knox, KY. The purpose of the Leader's Training Course is to provide instruction in the basic leadership and technical skills that will prepare you for your junior and senior years of ROTC. If you are a prior service veteran, your previous military experience (i.e. basic training) qualifies you to enter without the first two years of ROTC or attending LTC.
