Håfa adai Summer Tritons:

Congratulations of finishing up the session! The University continues to recognize through this ongoing pandemic that some students, through no fault of your own, may not achieve the grades you could have if they had attended on-campus classes for the entire summer. Therefore, the alternate grading option is still available to you.

Alternate Grading Option

For each undergraduate course completed, students will have the option of replacing the letter grade earned with an alternative grade that will not affect GPA calculations.

The alternate grades available to undergraduates are as follows:

  • Pass (P). Grades of C or better will be converted to a P, allowing the course to count as a prerequisite, any program requirement, or any other university requirement, and will allow progression to higher courses.
  • Credit (CR). Grades of D will be converted to a CR, allowing the course to count for certain general education courses or as pre-requisites in certain (but not many) majors.
  • No Credit (NC). Grades of F will be converted to NC, which means the student must retake the course for credit, but the GPA will not be negatively impacted.

How To Exercise This Option

You have until August 17 to seek advisement to exercise the alternate grading option. To ensure that you have considered their alternatives and the potential impacts carefully, advisement Is required to use the alternate grading option

Attached to this message is the Request for Alternate Grade form. You must complete one form for each course. If you have trouble finding an advisor, please contact the Triton Advising Center at tac@triton.uog.edu.
