Dr. Christianah Oladoye joined the College of Natural & Applied Sciences in October 2025 as an assistant professor specializing in soil fertility and plant nutrition. Her research is deeply committed to optimizing nutrient and waste management, soil health, conservation, and fertility practices to boost crop productivity while improving environmental quality in agricultural systems. Her research will look at how cover crops, mycorrhizal fungi, compost, biochar, and soil amendments affect nutrient cycling and availability, soil health and conservation over both short and long periods. Combining greenhouse, laboratory, experimental field, and on-farm studies, she aims to develop improved research and extension programs that foster precision farming and holistic nutrient management, minimize nutrient loss, and maximize financial returns for growers. Aside from research and extension, she will be teaching undergraduate and graduate-level soil courses.
