ABOUT

Patil received his doctorate in civil engineering with a specialization in geotechnical engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2014. He earned his master's in geotechnical engineering from San Diego State University (Calif.) in 2008 and his bachelor's in civil engineering from Pune University in India. He has Professional Civil Engineer (PE-Civil) license from the state of Texas. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Patil has been involved in writing proposals and working on funded research projects for various funding agencies such as the National Science Foundation, the Texas Department of Transportation, and the U.S. Department of Transportation. His research interests include laboratory soil testing and field instrumentation, static and dynamic characterization of saturated and unsaturated geo-materials, modeling of hydro-thermo-mechanical behavior of geo-materials, land-slides and slope stability analysis.
