ABOUT
Jonas D. Macapinlac has nearly 20 years of experience in marketing communications in the private and public sector. Over the years, he has blended his creative flow, strategic thinking and technological aptitude into a career trajectory with continual professional advancement.
As Director of University Marketing & Communications at the University of Guam, Macapinlac oversees the university’s advertising, public relations, website and social media and harnesses new media and communication technology to promote the university’s brand. He launched its “No Place Like Home” advertising campaign, designed and developed a new UOG website, established a growing social media presence and created new student life experiences such as the annual President’s Cup competition.
Born and raised in Guam, Macapinlac graduated from high school in 1996 from Harvest Christian Academy where he was a merit award recipient. In 2000, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication with an Advertising / Public Relations concentration from Pensacola Christian College and in 2005, he earned a Professional Master of Business Administration from the University of Guam.
Macapinlac enjoys spending time with his wife Rachel and their three children, Lilya, Kian and Rhys. He is an avid fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and particularly enjoys a medium-rare rib-eye steak.
