Isla Center for the Arts
The Isla Center for the Arts at the University of Guam is proud to announce the opening of the 11th Isla Art-a-thon Spring Exhibition on March 5, 2009. The exhibit will feature selected works of art created by students who participated in the 2008-2009 Isla Art-a-thon.
The exhibit includes 67 works selected from over 1,426 students who participated in this year’s Art-a-thon. Students from elementary, middle, and high schools produced these impressive works using a variety of media including pastels, colored pencils, ink, collage, markers, watercolors, and acrylics.
This year’s Art-a-thon raised just over $59,000! Forty percent of the funds raised, or $23,000, was returned to the participating schools to purchase art-related materials for the students.
