The University of Guam today launched its first official mobile application—TritonGo—for both Apple and Android devices. The app is free to download and available now from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

“TritonGo delivers a wide range of information about UOG and campus services,” said Jonas Macapinlac, UOG Director of Integrated Marketing Communications. “Among the features are mobile versions of WebAdvisor, Moodle, Triton Email, resources like course schedules, catalogs, and there’s much more to come.”

A team from UOG’s Integrated Marketing Communications Office and Office of Information Technology collaborated to build the app.

According to Rommel Hidalgo, UOG Chief Information Officer, “One of our strategic goals in the Good to Great initiative is to continually improve the student experience. We developed this mobile app as part of that goal.”

TritonGo also offers other features like up to date news and events, social media, and even a mobile game where Tritons can test their skills and post to a leaderboard.

“We wanted to develop a useful app, that’s why we made sure that students will have mobile access to their WebAdvisor accounts and their online courses through Moodle,” said Macapinlac. But we also wanted to make it fun! We’ve included UOG’s first ever video game: Swimmy Triton!”

In Swimmy Triton, users play as the University's King Triton mascot and navigate through obstacles in the Pacific Ocean.

Other exclusive features are on the way in the next few weeks. Macapinlac added, “TritonGo will be the exclusive app for our new Triton Privileges program, which provides discounts and offers from many local retailers and restaurants for all UOG Tritons. Stay tuned.”
