Need academic guidance? See a peer mentor!

Are you in need of guidance to shape your goals toward academic success? Thinking of a major to declare, but aren’t too sure of the process? Not too sure who your academic advisor is? Not to worry!

The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) is continuing its peer mentoring program this semester. The CLASS peer mentors are available to provide peer advisement to CLASS students as well as UOG students from any major. All peer mentors are trained in basic peer advisement skills and issues of confidentiality.

Peer mentors provide:

  • Assistance in creating a four-year academic plan
  • Information on the four divisions of CLASS: Communication and Fine Arts, English and Applied Linguistics, Humanities, and Social and Behavioral Sciences
  • Information on division advisors, major/minor requirements, directory information, and Catalog information
  • Help with online portals such as Moodle, WebAdvisor, GoTritons email, Self-Service Financial Aid, etc.
  • Study tips
