Three cadets in the University of Guam’s Army ROTC program have been selected for paid internships in the continental United States this coming summer.

Cadets John Bautista and Justin Cayading were selected for a three-week internship with the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. They will serve alongside a team of Army scientists and technicians who plan, integrate, and conduct experiments, developmental testing, independent operational testing, and independent evaluations and assessments to provide essential information to U.S Army acquisition decision makers and field commanders.

Bautista is a business administration major with a concentration in human resource management and a graduate of Father Duenas High School. Cayading is a health sciences major with a concentration in physical therapy and a graduate of Marianas High School in Saipan.

Cadet Noel Degracia was selected for a four-week internship with the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps of the U.S. Army with an assignment in Fort Carson, Colo. He will join the 4th Infantry Division’s legal office and witness firsthand how the JAG Corps provides legal support for the Army, soldiers, and their family members. He will also be introduced to multiple legal practice areas and have the opportunity to shadow judge advocates, witness administrative boards and courts-martial proceedings, observe client meetings, and assist in drafting legal memoranda.

Degracia is a business administration major and a graduate of Simon Sanchez High School.

The U.S. Army’s Cadet Command pays for the flights and lodging for the cadets selected for internships, as well as full per diem to cover meals and incidentals.

The University of Guam ROTC program was established in October 1979 and is celebrating 40 years of producing dynamic leaders for Guam, the Pacific, and the United States of America.
