Up to $3,000 grants available for UOG students in need
University of Guam students who demonstrate financial need can get up to $3,000 through the UOG Cares Emergency Grant. This is the second and final round of the grant program, which is designed for students who demonstrate exceptional financial need.
“We created this grant because we are committed to finding ways to make college more affordable for our students,” said Anita Borja Enriquez, senior vice president and provost at the university. “We want every student, regardless of financial ability, to cross that stage at commencement, and this grant provides a significant stepping stone for hundreds more students to make that a reality.”
The grant is funded through the federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) III, which provides emergency funding to universities to assist students in need during the pandemic. The UOG Cares Emergency Grant is an additional opportunity for students to receive pandemic-related financial assistance on top of the third round of direct HEERF aid to be distributed to all eligible UOG students this semester in amounts up to $700 per student.
Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, or until all funds have been awarded.
