The English Language Institute at the University of Guam’s Global Learning and Engagement Department marked the completion of the Fanuchånan 2022 semester and the graduation of one of its students.

Mei-Chu Yeh, of Taiwan, attended the Institute for two years, passed the Advanced level, and graduated from the program on December 15, 2022.

Twenty other students completed their Fanuchånan 2022 semester at ELI.

The program has drawn mostly foreign students.

Students who complete the program and plan to enroll at UOG as an undergraduate can forgo the language test requirement needed for admission. 

Approximately 80 students have gone through the ELI program over the last five years, but the total was affected by the pause in new student admissions for a year due to the pandemic.

The average cost per semester for fees and tuition is $3,455
