Office of Information Technology
The University of Guam has partnered with the National Center for Women in Information Technology (NCWIT), a non-profit community of more than 850 universities, companies, non-profits, and government organizations nationwide, working to increase women’s participation in computing and technology. NCWIT equips change leaders with resources for taking action in recruiting, retaining, and advancing women from K–12 and higher education, through industry and entrepreneurial careers.
One of NCWIT's programs include the NCWIT Aspirations in Computing (AiC). AiC provides technical girls and women with ongoing engagement, visibility, and encouragement for their computing-related interests and achievements from high school through college and into the workforce. AiC reaches all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and all U.S. military bases overseas.
Allysandra Raymundo of John F. Kennedy High School, Bianca De Los Angeles of Tiyan High School, and Annielee Rae Quiogue of Simon Sanchez High School were recognized on March 14, 2018 at a ceremony hosted by the University of Guam Office of Information Technology. Read more about the event here.
