Visitor Information

To arrange a visit, contact the curator. Guam is a small island, but a rental car is essential for getting around as most destinations are widely separated and taxis are quite expensive over even modest distances. Limited housing for visiting scientists is available on campus adjacent to the Marine Laboratory; quotes of present rates and reservations should be obtained in advance from the Marine Lab. There are no hotels within walking distance of the University.

The Herbarium is housed in the first floor, Room 105, of the Science Building of the University of Guam in the village of Mangilao. Exiting the airport onto Airport Road fronting the airport, turn right and continue until the intersection with Route 16. Turn right onto Route 16 and continue to Barrigada, then left onto Route 10. Follow Route 10 until Mangilao and turn left at Route 37 and the sign indicating the university. When entering campus, the Science Building is the first building on the left. These maps should help:

The Herbarium is open most weekdays from 0900 h to 1600 h. To make certain someone is available to assist you, please call ahead. Parking is free and is usually available in front of the Science Building, otherwise, spaces can be found in adjacent parking lots.
