Advisement and Registration

All entering freshmen and transfer applicants who have not completed at least three (3) semester hours of  college-level mathematics course with a grade of “C” or better at an accredited U.S. College or University must take placement examinations in Mathematics.

Transfer applicants who have completed at least three (3) semester hours of transferable college-level Composition will need to have transcripts sent from their institution to Admissions and Records to determine credit and course equivalencies.  They may be exempt from taking the EPT.

New students will receive a personal invitation through email to meet with their assigned academic advisor prior to advisement & registration based on placement, major, and advisor availability.

Admission under this status is limited to one semester.  Students may send unofficial transcript(s) to admitme@triton.uog.edu for a preliminary evaluation.

UOG Placement Test Fees

All students who need to take the placement test are required to pay testing fees in advance before registering online. There is a $10.00 fee for the English Preparedness Test and a $25.00 fee for the Math Placement Test.

Payments can be made at the UOG Bursar's Office at the Administration and Finance Building from Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Please note that the cashier closes at 4 pm.

English Preparedness Test

ATTENTION: ALL person-to-person EPT testing is cancelled until further notice.

New students planning to register for EN 110 Freshman Composition at the University of Guam MUST take the English Preparedness Test (EPT).  The EPT is administered via an electronic questionnaire* which prospective students answer in essay format.  Prior to the start of the semester, the questionnaire will either be included in the application process and packet through CollegeNet or be sent to students via Testing or Admissions staff. The EPT is a diagnostic test and assesses your strengths and weaknesses in writing academic essays, both of which help the EPT grading team determine the instructional support an entering college writer may need.  The EPT helps uncover a student's potential to pass EN 110.
