What does 5-2-1-Almost None stand for? 

  • Eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. 
  • Limit screen time to less than 2 hours per day.
  • Aim for at least 1 hour of physical activity per day.
  • Aim for almost no sugary drinks each day. 
5-2-1-Almost None is campaign to promote a healthier lifestyle for children and their families. The campaign is part of the federally funded SNAP-Ed Program (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – Education). Guam’s program is carried out by the Cooperative Extension & Outreach service under the University of Guam’s Land Grant. SNAP-Ed works to educate families on how to use their SNAP benefits wisely and works with community partners to prevent obesity in Guam through policy, system, and environmental changes.  

 

Are you ready to take the pledge?

The 5-2-1-Almost None partner pledge is a commitment to become a champion of healthy eating and physical activity for young children and families. The pledge can be taken by schools, child care centers, community centers, or any child-focused organization. 

The pledge is a year-long commitment to promote the 5-2-1-AN behaviors. Pledge partners receive: 

  • a nine-session "Eating Smart and Being Active" workshop for staff and parents within your organization

  • assistance from the UOG SNAP-Ed team in adopting internal policies that promote fruit, vegetable, and water consumption and regular physical activity

  • educational posters, banners, classroom materials, and newsletter articles to display and distribute
