The Senate represents the faculty in the academic leadership of the University. The Mission of the Faculty Senate includes protecting academic freedom, institutional integrity and autonomy, and shared governance; providing faculty with a unified, substantial and independent voice in matters of educational programs; fostering academic quality by empowering and protecting the work of the Academic Review Committees; and promoting faculty development.

Dr. Tracy Poon Tambascia is a Professor of Clinical Education in the Rossier School
of Education at the University of Southern California. Her areas of interest include
international higher education, higher education policy, issues that affect the practice
of student affairs, and minority student success in higher education. She teaches
courses in the masters and doctoral programs and regularly chairs dissertations.
Tambascia is active in publishing and research. She has served on numerous invited panels, presented at national conferences, and holds various editorial roles with national higher education journals and publications.
Prior to this faculty role, Tambascia worked in student affairs administration. Nationally, Tambascia serves on the Board of Directors for NASPA and chairs the association’s Faculty Council.
Tambascia earned her Ed.D. in educational leadership from the University of Southern California, an M.A. in psychology from the California State University, Los Angeles, and a B.A. in psychology from Occidental College
